RENE TOSONI | HEAD COACH

Rene Tosoni, currently serving as a hitting coach in the Atlanta Braves minor league system is returning home to take over the role as head coach of the Senior Reds program. Rene was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2005 playing eleven seasons in pro baseball and reaching the MLB as an outfielder with the Twins in the 2011 season.

Originally from Coquitlam and a Reds Alumni, Rene has been a stalwart on the Canadian Men’s National team representing Canada at numerous international baseball events including the World Baseball Classic in 2013 and 2017, as well as winning gold at the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015. A few accomplishments on an impressive playing career!

Rene has spent the off seasons working with the Reds and is familiar with the current players on the Senior and Redlegs teams. Tosoni is also a hitting coach on Greg Hamilton’s Canadian Junior National coaching staff. In speaking with Rene this recently he is excited about this opportunity and being at home with his young family.
